Matt Frank is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer
Engineering, Affiliate Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Research
Assistant Professor in the Coordinated Science Laboratory at
the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign, where he leads the Implicitly Parallel Architectures
(IPA) group. Matt researches compilers and architectures for
implicitly concurrent microprocessors. Matt received his bachelor's
degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994 with majors in
Mathematics and Computer Science. He received his master's and
doctorate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997 and
2003. He received a National Science Foundation CAREER award in
2008 for his proposal “System Support for Implicitly Parallel
Programming.”
